About the American Farm Initiative
AFI is a scalable food system platform powered by microfarms and intelligence. We are not a farm. We are not a blog. We are the infrastructure for local food economies.
Our Mission
To rebuild local food systems through scalable microfarm networks — creating food access, economic opportunity, and community ownership in underserved areas across the United States.
Our Vision
A future where every community has access to fresh, locally grown food — where microfarms are as common as corner stores, and the intelligence layer (MIDAS) ensures nothing is wasted and everything is connected.
The Problem We’re Solving
America’s food system is broken at the local level. Despite technological advances, 23 million Americans live in food deserts — areas where fresh, affordable food is simply unavailable. The root causes are structural: consolidation of agriculture into mega-farms, collapse of regional food networks, and disinvestment in rural and urban communities.
Food Deserts
23+ million Americans lack access to fresh produce within 1 mile (urban) or 10 miles (rural)
Supply Chain Gaps
Regional food networks have collapsed, leaving communities entirely dependent on distant mega-farms
Economic Displacement
Local food dollars leave communities, preventing wealth creation and economic resilience
The AFI Solution
AFI deploys an integrated system: we assess community readiness, design and build microfarms, train local operators, aggregate the harvest, connect to buyers, and measure the economic impact — all coordinated through MIDAS, our proprietary intelligence platform.
